Emirates SkyCargo is set to start freight services to North America in September, offering its customers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Gulf region and Indian subcontinent cargo capacity to and from markets in the east coast of the United States.

On September 14, SkyCargo will commence regular services to New York's J. F. Kennedy Airport, via Gothenburg in Sweden, subject to Government approvals. The route will be served with a Boeing 747-200 Freighter with direct main-deck capability that enables the transport of outsize shipments and is capable of carrying more than 100 tons of cargo in each direction.

SkyCargo already has a substantial customer base in the United States, currently served through a General Sales Agent and interline partnerships with major airlines and freighter services in the country.

The three freighters in the airline's fleet extensively serve cargo-only destinations including Bangalore, Amsterdam, Liege, Shanghai and Taipei. Frankfurt is another new freighter destination set to be launched on September 10. Other busy trade routes already served by SkyCargo's freighters are Amman, Chennai, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore, Dusseldorf, Dhaka and Colombo, all of which are also Emirates' passenger destinations. — (menareport.com)
