Developments in the energy sector, which has long been the driver of the Qatari economy, will be debated at the Major New Energy Project Opportunities conference in Qatar February 6-7. Keynote speaker for the conference is Abdullah Bin Hamad al-Attiyah, second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Energy and Industry, in his capacity as Chairman of Qatar Petroleum.
Al-Attiyah will be the keynote speaker in the first day of the conference, and will discuss the potential for international partnerships in a dynamic global energy climate.
Investments in the oil & gas sector in Qatar are skyrocketing with a total value of more than $60 billion across industries.
Conference chairman Edmund O’Sullivan said: “Qatar represents a wealth of opportunities for companies in the region – and further afield - in both the upstream and downstream sectors. “As one of the key players, Qatar Petroleum’s insights will be extremely valuable for the 200-plus delegates.”
The two-day event will gather managers and high-level business people in Qatar and their global counterparts to explore ambitious construction plans across a broad range of sectors.
The conference will focus on new developments of major projects presently under development in Qatar, which enters 2006 as the host of the Asian Games, and is undergoing rapid growth in its tourism infrastructure driven by The Pearl, Qatar.
