The General Exhibitions Corporation (GEC), will participate at IFAT 2005,Munich, Germany from 25-29 May 2005, as part of the preparations for the fourth edition of the Environment Exhibition & Conference (Environment 2007), which will be held under the patronage of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. Following the resounding success of Environment 2005, which was held from 30th January -  2nd February 2005, which saw 334 exhibitors from 41 countries, including 8 national pavilions and 10,000 specialised visitors, amongst which were 20 Ministers.
 
The UAE has established itself a good reputation world-wide concerning environmental issues and sustainable development, it is also finding solutions and conducting researches into existing environmental matters, such as addressing pollution problems.
         
The UAE also is exerting all efforts in order to place rules and regulations in preserving the environment, its biological diversity, natural resources and build-up a balanced sustainable development. It is also worth mentioning that the UAE signed all regional and international agreements concerning the  environment, not to mention its cooperation with international corporations regarding these issues.
 
Based on these sound foundations and on what was built up by the late president of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who was rewarded the World Wildlife ‘Golden Panda Award’ for being "the Environment Man of the Year" and his tireless efforts in supporting environmental issues, which gained the appreciation of the United Nations Environmental Programme. Also Late Sheikh Zayed was recently awarded "Champion of the Earth".  The UAE was also awarded the Cannes Grand Award for Environment & Water in 2004, which Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE was presented.  Bearing in mind all the environment strategies that the UAE is laying down and living, GEC is trying its best to keep on the same track and fully participates in the achievements of the country.

 

The Environment 2007 Exhibition & Conference participation at the renowned IFAT 2005, organised by Messe Munich International and considered one of the biggest shows regarding environment in Europe is confirmation of the event commitment to its industry. 2,100 exhibitors will be participating in IFAT 2005, from  35 countries, covering a gross area 175,000 sqm. It will be showcasing the latest products related to environmental issues, which came as a direct result of the world's rapid development. This development is threatening the natural life and natural resources, accompanied by disease and pollution.
     
Environment 2007 Exhibition & Conference, now in its fourth edition, to be held from 28th-31st January 2007, at the Abu Dhabi International Exhibition & Conference Centre, is looking to attract a large number of exhibitors, visitors, as well as world-wide media coverage of this prestigious and very important event, showcasing the latest technologies in the industry, which both the public and private sectors would make use of.

IFAT 2005 is one of the most important exhibitions of its kind, as it showcases the latest technologies in the fields of environment such as; Air, Water Pollution, Recycling & Processing Wastes and Medical Waste, in addition to presenting the latest equipment, machineries and technologies related to sustainable development.

Environment 2007 will be organised by GEC in conjunction with IMAG International – Messe Munich.
