The Emirates Securities and Commodities Authority (Esca) announced that it had extended the deadline for submission of 2005 full year account results to the stock markets and market regulator.

Accordingly, all UAE listed companies and banks will now have until February 9 to submit last year's results.

The 10-day extension was granted in light of the recent holidays which may have left some institutions behind in their paperwork.

Esca chief executive Abdullah S. Turifi told Gulf News, "All the listed companies in the UAE have been directed to furnish the 2005 results by the evening of February 9, 2006."

"The extension has been given because of the recent holidays and to enable listed companies to finalize their accounts," he said.

The dates for brokerage houses to submit their final accounts and budget have also been extended until February 15.
