Etisalat today announced plans to launch the highly-anticipated BlackBerry® Storm™ 9500 smartphone device in the UAE with it being the first operator in the Gulf region to launch the device.
The BlackBerry Storm is the world's first “clickable” touch-screen smartphone. The touch-screen depresses ever so slightly when pressed, responding like a physical keyboard to dramatically enhance the user interface and enable easy and precise typing. The touch-screen also supports single-touch, multi-touch and gestures for intuitive and efficient navigation.

The BlackBerry Storm will leverage Etisalat's mobile broadband service with coverage of up to 99% of the populated areas to offer a perfect blend of connectivity, flexibility and convenience. Etisalat mobile internet offers speed up to 7.2 megabit/sec to download data, and with up to 1.92 megabit/sec upload rate.
