Foster Wheeler awarded program management services contract in Saudi Arabia

Foster Wheeler Ltd. has announced that its UK subsidiary Foster Wheeler Energy Limited had been awarded a program management services contract by Saudi Arabia's Eastern Petrochemical Company (SHARQ) for the expansion of SHARQ's existing petrochemicals complex known as the SHARQ 3rd Expansion Project to be located at Jubail Industrial City.  

 

SHARQ is a joint venture between Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) and Saudi Petrochemical Development Corp. The terms of the award were not disclosed.

We are already working as project management consultant with SABIC for its new grassroots petrochemicals facility to be built at Yanbu Industrial City. This award further underscores the quality of our technical and project management expertise and demonstrates Foster Wheeler's competitiveness in the market- place." 

 

The expansion of the existing petrochemicals complex will include the following units: a grassroots 1,300 kilo tonnes per annum (kta) ethylene cracker, a 800 kta polyethylene plant, a 600 kta ethylene glycol plant and associated offsites and utilities. (menareport.com)
