Fujitsu Siemens Computers is offering a new generation of Primepower enterprise servers with extended architecture for business critical computing environments. The new servers, based on the industry standard Solaris operating environment and the Fujitsu Sparc64 microprocessor, were unveiled recently in the Middle East as part of a global announcement.

The new Primepower series are servers that offer all functionality needed for simplifying and optimizing existing IT infrastructures, by combining main-frame class availability, performance capabilities of vector-processing machines and the benefits of UNIX servers.

Primepower 1500, suitable large consolidation projects, is scalable up to 32 processors and can be deployed in standalone or multi-server clusters for high performance, availability and scalability. Primepower 2500 is a 64-way and 128-way top model that brings mainframe levels of high availability with levels of up to 99.999 per cent. It is targeted at the server consolidation, data warehousing and ASP markets which require sophisticated dynamic partitioning combined with mainframe-class performance. — (menareport.com)
