Gulf Aluminium Rolling Mill Company (GARMCO) is has reached 84 percent Bahrainization, the highest percentage recorded since the company's inception in 1985, stated a press release.

This level of Bahrainization has been achieved by GARMCO with the strategic implementation of a dedicated program of training and education within the industry for Bahraini nationals. GARMCO, working closely with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, hire two engineers every year, from a training and development program organized by the Ministry.

At the same time GARMCO also co-operated with the Ministry of Labor to recruit 19 other trainees who required industry training. They underwent an intensive training program, on site at the company, to enable them to do skilled and semi-skilled jobs within the plant and are now all employed at the plant.

GARMCO was established in 1981 and was created from a joint venture of the Gulf States. Today Bahrain is the largest shareholder followed by Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), Industrial Bank of Kuwait, Gulf Investment Corporation, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar and the Republic of Iraq. — (menareport.com)
