Gitex Computer Shopper attracts key brands

Prominent players have confirmed their presence at the Gitex Computer Shopper to be held October 12-18, 2002, at the West Hall, Airport Expo Dubai, according to a company press release. Organizers of Gitex Computer Shopper promise that this year’s edition of the event will have a vast range of first-class consumer options.  

 

Emirates Computers will showcase computer hardware platforms, software platforms and telecommunication products and solutions. It will exhibit computers, mobile phones, GSM products, peripherals, and software.  

 

Abdul Aziz Aljabr Computer and Al-Maalim for Computer Systems would exhibit their latest additions in software and multimedia. On display, the Al-Mutanabbi Bookshop will have computer books, Microsoft Press Sams, Que Mcgraw Hill, Sybex Etc and dictionaries among other products. The Al-Sayegh Brothers Trading that represents LG here will exhibit LG products and hardware. 

 

Olympus, which is also represented here by Al Sayegh Brothers Trading LLC, have assured that their Olympus stable will be on display. Specialized software products and research models will be presented by Al-Shorooq and Al-Turath Center for Computer Research. Al-Shorooq will also exhibit its Arabic magazine. 

 

Epson printers, View sonic monitors, NEC products, Seagate HDD, Western Digital HDD, DFI mother boards will be displayed at the Al-Yousuf stand. For the show this year, Alphamed will exhibit stationery products, writing instruments, office media, computer ribbons, laser toners, and computer accessories. Stationery products from Farook International Stationery will also attract visitors. 

 

Some of the other companies who confirmed participation include: Americana Computer Systems, Atlas Al-Sharq Electronics and Capriwood Computer LLC among others. In the areas of entertainment electronics and software, Imaginations will exhibit software for mobile phones and PC games. Eurostar Communications LLC has plans to exhibit digital satellite receivers, LN B's, LNBF's, Diseqc switches, cables, feed horns, spliters among other products.  

 

Key Information Technology LLC will represent APC, Dell, Acer, Lanbit, HP, Verbatim, Cisco, Novell, Microsoft, Micros, Fidelio, TMS Baron, Ortronics and Allion at its stand.  

 

Organized by the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC), Gitex Computer Shopper is the retail component of the Gitex tradeshow. Shopper is held at Airport Expo Dubai while the trade event occupies eight halls at the Dubai International Exhibition Center.  

 

The previous edition of Gitex Computer Shopper attracted 125 IT vendors representing 200 companies from 15 countries and more than 54,400 visitors. There are several Gitex events now being held throughout the region. Termium-Gitex Beirut was held in Lebanon and Gitex Saudi Arabia held in Riyadh. In addition, Gitex Hyderabad (India) that was held in January 2002, marked the debut of the Gitex brand outside the Middle East region.
