The Gold and Jewelry Group will install a gold alloys and precious metal analyzer in Gold Land in Deira's Gold Souk this month. The new metal analyzer will enable the more than 400 members of the group, retailers and wholesalers, to check the purity of gold and other metals.
The German-manufactured GoldCheck is the latest in X-ray fluorescence instrumentation and can determine the precise percentage by weight (of karat) in a solid piece of jewelry in just minutes.
This system aims at giving security of mind to those dealing in gold, as well as help to increase consumer confidence in gold and other precious metals, a group press release read. The group is also planning to extend availability of the GoldCheck to consumers, who will be able to check the gold for free, reassurnig shoppers about the purity of the gold they are buying.
