The luxury hotel chain Hilton International has revealed plans for development in the Gulf region with the possibility of opening a Conrad or Scandic hotel in the near future, stated a press release.
Recent Hilton openings have spanned the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia and Oman including the Hilton Dubai Creek, Hilton Dubai Jumeirah, Hilton Ras Al-Khaimah, Hilton Jeddah, and the Hilton Salalah. A new luxury resort hotel, Hilton Kuwait, will open at the end of March.
“With the purchase of Scandic hotels in July 2001 and the recent alliance with Hilton’s five-star deluxe chain, Conrad, we now have the scope to introduce two new brands into the Gulf,” said Hilton International’s Vice President for Operations in the Arabian Gulf, Rudi Jagersbacher.
In November 2000, Hilton Group and the Hilton Hotels Corporation formed a joint venture company to expand the Conrad brand of luxury business hotels and resorts throughout the world. Conrad currently operates an exclusive portfolio of 15 hotels worldwide, of which three are located in Egypt.
Hilton International currently operates a total of 13 hotels in the Arabian Gulf with eight hotels in the UAE, three in Saudi Arabia and one each in Bahrain and Oman, collectively offering more than 2,000 hotels in more than 50 countries worldwide. — (menareport.com)
