Hilton International celebrated the opening of their new regional headquarters at the Dubai Internet City (DIC), following expansion in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries over the past two years.
The new office, which has been relocated from the Arenco Building in Dubai, forms the Hilton Regional Sales and Marketing headquarters for the Arabian Gulf. It will house the Hilton worldwide reservations center, Hilton HHonors management office and the international and regional sales and marketing team.
Hilton International’s Vice President for Operations in the Arabian Gulf Rudi Jagersbacher said: “This move represents our strong commitment to the region as we continue to drive our expansion plans across the Gulf.”
The Hilton HHonors Loyalty Program has been in operation since 1987 and now has over 10.5 million members worldwide and a total of 83,000 members in the Middle East. Hilton HHonors is the only loyalty program in which members can collect points by staying at any Hilton hotel and at the same time collect miles on their membership card of any of the airline partners’ loyalty programs—collecting both miles and points for the same stay.
Hilton International currently operates a total of 13 hotels in the Gulf with eight hotels in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), three in Saudi Arabia and one each in Bahrain and Oman. In April 2002, Hilton will open the new Hilton Kuwait resort hotel, which will offer business and leisure facilities.
Hilton Hotels Corporation and Hilton International, a subsidiary of Hilton Group plc, have a worldwide alliance to market the Hilton hotel brand. Collectively they offer more than 2,000 hotels in more than 50 countries worldwide. — (menareport.com)
