ALBAWABA - Hunter Biden, son of U.S. President Joe Biden, sued Fox News on Monday for releasing private images and recordings of him, according to Reuters, in a fictitious “mock trial” show series about his international business activities.

Hunter Biden claims Fox broke New York's revenge porn statute, which prohibits publishing personal photos of someone without their consent. Unjust enrichment and purposeful emotional suffering are also among the allegations.

In October 2022, Fox Nation broadcasted “The Trial of Hunter Biden: A Mock Trial for the American People,” before pulling the show down earlier this year. However, the complaint claims it has retained the advertising reels and snippets and that the show is still available on third-party streaming services.

In a statement, Fox News said that it complies with the First Amendment of the United States Constitution and that the stories it reported on Hunter Biden and the investigations it conducted into his behavior have been truthful, commenting that “this entirely politically motivated lawsuit is devoid of merit.”

The lawsuit reads that “in addition to the unlawful commercial exploitation of Mr. Biden’s image, name, and likeness, ‘The Trial of Hunter Biden’ unlawfully publishes numerous intimate images (both still and video) of Mr. Biden depicting him in the nude, depicting an unclothed or exposed intimate part of him, as well as engaged in sex acts.”

In the lawsuit, Hunter Biden says that “while using certain true information, the series intentionally manipulates the facts, distorts the truth, narrates happenings out of context, and invents dialogue intended to entertain,” adding that the program had severely damaged his public image, humiliated him, and brought him mental suffering.
