Mr. Rodrigo de Rato, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), issued a statement following his meetings with Moroccan officials on Monday. According to a press release on his behalf, de Rato hailed the Moroccan efforts "to reinforce social cohesion, a prerequisite to economic development." He added that "The new family code, the new labor code, and efforts to reduce social and regional disparities through targeted social and infrastructure spending are all important in this regard."
