Central Bank of Iran Governor Ebrahim Sheibani said on Sunday that 25 percent of the banking credit in the country is directed for the agriculture sector.
Addressing ceremonies, marking the inauguration of Organization of Executives of Agro Exchange Market, Sheibani said the agriculture sector is of high importance in national economy and should receive full support.
He said the agriculture sector satisfies 80 percent of the Iranian people's food needs and 90 percent of the food industries needs.
The official said 10 percent of the world's plants grow in Iran. (menareport.com)
