Iran starts to import Chinese cars

Iran’s Ministry of Commerce approved the import of the Chinese car “Jili” (Geely) model, chairman of Iran’s Auto Owners Association (IAOA) said on Saturday. The ministry’s approval came following months of negotiations with the Chinese side, Masoud Tehranchi added, according to MNA

 

Tehranchi added that the cars have successfully passed all the required road and environmental tests.  

 

He commented that 410 cars of this model would be imported at the first phase. They are earmarked to be assigned to the public relation offices of different bureaus in the country and following that, 2,000 cars would be imported for the members of the IAOA. 

 

According to the plans, the first series of the model would be imported and delivered to the customers, Tehranchi noted. (menareport.com)
