Iran's Khodro starts production in Syria

Director of Samand Car Making Project at Iran's Khodro Industrial Group, Mouharam Ali Selhashour, said that the executive works for building a factory to produce this car in Syria would officially begin in Damascus this week. 

 

In a statement to the press, Selhashour said the factory will produce in the first stage 5,000 cars of Samand model annually. The production will increase in the second stage to 15,000 cars per year, pointing out that 50 % of the project was accomplished till now. 

 

He added that the project is scheduled to be inaugurated within 15 days, asserting that Syrian-Iranian Siamco, the producer of Samand cars, will be the first company to produce cars in Syria by joint investments between the two countries and with a capital estimated at US$ 60 million.
