Israel leads the Middle East in terms of technology skills in the year 2001. The country constitutes the largest regional base for information technology (IT) human resources, according to new report issued by the online skill-testing firm Brainbench.

The report, analyzing the distribution of certified IT professionals around the globe, ranked the United Arab Emirates (UAE) second in the region, with almost 1,500 certified professionals. Iran had more than 500 certifications during the same period, placing it number six in the region. Closing the region’s list for 2001 was Yemen.

India, Brazil, Australia, Romania and South Africa have all become regional leaders in terms of the concentration of certified IT professionals, asserted the Global IT IQ report. The report also concluded that concentrations of certified IT professionals are not always determined by the overall economic situation. — (menareport.com)
