Japan’s DENSO Corporation is expected to begin selling its starters and alternators in Turkey next month, aiming to reach $45 million in annual sales by fiscal year 2005. DENSO established a manufacturing facility in Istanbul last July with an initial capital of over eight million dollars.

The new plant, expected to go online in February 2004, will manufacture thermal products for car air conditioning systems, which will be marketed throughout Europe. It will employ approximately eighty workers.

The new Turkish sales and manufacturing company, named DENSO Otomotiv Parcalari Sanayi Anonim Sirket, is 100 percent owned by the DENSO Corporation. It was set up with a 300 million yen investment.
