Jazeera Airways, the first private airline in the Middle East has taken delivery of a new Airbus A320 aircraft, powered with new ultra low emission producing CFM 56 B engines. This is the fifth of a total of ten aircraft to be delivered to the airline over the next three years. The airline also has an additional 6 aircraft on option from Airbus.
The Airbus A320 is all fitted with leather seats with 32-in seat pitch, equipped with in-flight entertainment and split into two cabins: Jazeera and Jazeera Plus.
Speaking at the delivery in Kuwait, Chairman and CEO Marwan Boodai said, “We are committed to being an environment friendly airline and have ensured that we continue powering our brand new fleet with new CFM 56 B engines, which offer increased power, are quieter and produce less CO2 emissions.”

With recently introduced flights to the Egyptian resort city of Sharm El Sheikh and increased frequency to Alexandria, Amman, and, Aleppo, Jazeera Airways now serves 14 of the most popular destinations in the Middle East, North Africa and the Indian Sub Continent.
Jazeera Airways is the first private airline in the Middle East with a capital of USD 34 Million raised through an up-front IPO in June 2004. Last October, the Board of Directors approved a capital increase of USD 34 million to be raised through its existing 36,500 shareholders in the coming months. Today, the airline remains as the only operating Middle Eastern airline that is neither owned nor subsidized by any government. Jazeera Airways plans to list its shares in the Kuwait Stock Exchange in the first half of 2007.
