Jordan's Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) welcomed a total of 628,101 passengers throughout the month of November, marking a 5.1 per cent increase over the same period last year.
According to statistics issued by Airport International Group, a total of 5,806 aircraft movements (ACM) and 8,665 tons of cargo were registered during the same month, representing a 2.6 percent and 3.5 percent growth, respectively.
As for year-to-date (YTD) figures recorded between the beginning of January and until end of November 2019, QAIA received 8,264,489 passengers, witnessed 73,619 ACM and handled 94,180 tons of cargo - signifying a 6 percent and 3.8 percent surge, and a 0.9 percent decline, respectively, against the same period last year.
“Our passenger numbers are not only increasing for the sixth consecutive month this year, but they’re also noticeably surpassing the figures recorded in 2018, which is an achievement we’re very proud of. With the winter holidays upon us, we expect increased traffic during December, especially considering the new routes we’ve inaugurated recently,” stated Airport International Group CEO, Kjeld Binger.
