Ever wondered what does success mean? Well, according to professionals in the Middle East and North Africa, success isn’t about simply climbing up the career ladder; to many professionals hard work, family support and overall good relationships play effective roles in how they define their success.

In a recent infographic, devoted to studying and revealing the secrets of success, Bayt.com has found that everyone has a different perspective of success; what it means, how to reach it, what they owe their success to and things to help you stay on top of your game.

The Bayt.com ‘Secrets of Success in the Middle East and North Africa’ poll, July 2016, has revealed that 95% of Middle East professionals think that networking and maintaining relationships has been important to their career success, and 88% say that taking risks has played a vital role in in theirs!

Highlights from the poll:

Mentorship and inspiration are important for driving success at work: 1 in 2 professionals have admitted to having a career mentor, while 45.6% claim they are driven by inspiration at work.

Mentorship

Money isn’t the ultimate vision of success: For MENA professionals, the ultimate vision of success is in innovation (34.4%), having a job they love (26%) and having a comfortable life with their families (16.3%).

Vision

Career success is achieved by a multitude of different factors: To many MENA professionals many factors have played a role in their success journey; hard work (29.1%), skills and relationships (13.7%) and even family support (10.8%).

To stay successful you need to avoid various things and behaviors: MENA professionals say that having poor ethics and integrity (18%), slacking at work (14.9%) and lack of organization (12.1%) are among the top mistakes professionals can make.

Data for the 2016 Bayt.com ‘Secrets of Career Success in the MENA’ poll was collected online from April 20, 2016 to May 17, 2016. Results are based on a sample of 7,018 respondents. Countries that were included are the UAE, Bahrain, Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Yemen, Oman, Tunisia, Qatar, and KSA.
