Due to the war in Iraq, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has experienced a serious slow-down in bookings and a high number of cancellations on flights to and from destinations in the Middle East.
This situation has forced KLM to temporarily consolidate its flight operations on two hubs in the region: Dubai and Teheran. This consolidation will still enable KLM to offer daily and on most days twice-daily flights to and from the region. Depending on demand, KLM will fly a Boeing 747 to/from Dubai, effective March 25.
KLM flies non-stop between Dubai and Amsterdam with onward connections into all of Europe and to North America. KLM and its partners serve over 400 cities in 78 countries on six continents. It has established itself as one of the market's leading carriers. In fiscal 2002/2001 KLM carried more than 16.1 million passengers and 502,000 tons of cargo and provided engineering and maintenance services to more than 35 airlines. — (menareport.com)
