In a bid to encourage investments in Kuwait’s oil sector, the Kuwait Oil Corporation (KOC) begun preparing one of its coke calcification plants for privatization, reported Al-Hayat. The plant has a production capacity of 300,000 tons per annum.

The calcinated petroleum coke is mainly used in the aluminum industry. KOC has asked the Global Investment House (GIH) to offer financial consultancy for the plant’s privatization.

The Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) is a subsidiary of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), responsible for production operations in the Gulf state. Decisions taken by KPC, which is headed Kuwait’s Ministry of Oil, must be approved by the Supreme Petroleum Council and by the cabinet. — (menareport.com)
