All local banks in Kuwait will be closed for three days in memory of the country's late leader, Amir H.H. Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah.
The three day closure began on Sunday and will continue through Tuesday. Banks are expected to reopen for business on Wednesday.
In addition, according to <i>KUNA</i>, all official and government institutions in Kuwait will also be closed during the mourning period.
According to the sources, a small number of bank branches in Kuwait International Airport will remain open nonetheless, and continue to offer banking services.
