Le Meridien has expanded its portfolio of properties in Egypt with the opening last month of a new 302-room hotel in the popular tourist destination of Luxor. The group already operates hotels in Cairo, as well as a resort at Makadi Bay on the Red Sea.
Sited 10 kilometers from the international airport, Le Meridien Luxor has 283 rooms and 19 suites, all with balcony or terrace and equipped with air-conditioning, satellite television, safe, hair dryer, mini-bar, IDD telephone with voice mail and radio, and PC sockets.
For business guests, there is an all-purpose conference center equipped with the latest audio and video technology that can be adapted to cater to conventions, seminars, workshops, gala dinners or product launches – with a capacity up to 1,000 – as well as two smaller meeting rooms and a comprehensive business center.
Le Méridien is a global hotel group with a portfolio of over 140 luxury and upscale hotels in 55 countries worldwide. The majority of its properties are located throughout Europe, the Americas, Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East. The company also enjoys a strategic alliance with JAL-owned Nikko Hotels, providing loyal guests access to an additional 43 properties around the world.
Headquartered in London, Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts Group was formed and financed by the Principal Finance Group of Nomura International. The Principal Finance Group has since become independent and is now known as Terra Firma. The Terra Firma Group manages Le Meridien for Nomura International. — (menareport.com)
