Lebanon’s Treasury spends $5.3 billion in 2001

The Lebanese Treasury Ministry reported that its total spending decreased to eight billion Lebanese Pounds ($5.3 billion) in the first 11 months of 2001, down from nine billion Lebanese Pounds in the corresponding period of the previous year, reported KSA Today . Its total revenues decreased to 4.1 billion Lebanese Pounds ($2.7 million) in the first 11 months of 2001, down from 4.4 billion Lebanese Pounds ($2.9 million) in the corresponding period of the previous year. The Treasury Ministry reported that its deficit accounted for 49 percent of the overall deficit in the first 11 months of 2001 compared with 51 percent in 2000. The overall treasury deficit dropped by 732 billion Lebanese Pounds ($483 million) during the same period. — (menareport.com)
