LG Electronics is planning to bring 17 new monitor products to the Middle East and Africa next year including a touch screen LCD prototype and the company's first Windows-based terminal.

The move follows a recent upgrade of LG's monitor range, which in July saw the global and digital leader introduce 12 new monitor products into the regional market. LG Electronics hopes to end this year with 39.3 percent of the Middle East and Africa monitor market.

Due to be launched into the region next year is the Flaterm FT-1000 – LG's new Windows-based terminal (WBT). This combines LG's LCD Flatron technology with the functionality of Microsoft's Windows applications. The screen is designed to work as a network ‘client' where a server holds application software. The screen is packaged with keyboard and mouse and in-built Internet protocol and network settings.

One server can support from two to 200 WBTs, with all users being able to access the Internet simultaneously. The screen can dramatically improve the performance of MS Windows applications and fully supports USB peripheral local printers. — (menareport.com)
