LG Electronics has launched a portable DVD player into the Middle East, as the global and regional digital leader looks to build its regional sector sales this year by 21 percent. “This is the first in a series of new DVD products due to enter the market this year,” said B. H. Ahn, Digital Products general manager for LG Electronics Gulf FZE. In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the LG DP4932P is available from Al-Sayegh Brothers and electronics stores.

The LG DP4932P portable DVD player, with a seven-inch screen, features 100x hi-speed scanning and Dolby Digital 3D-surround sound. “It not only plays DVD titles, but also MP3 files as well as VCD’s, CD’s, CD-ROM’s and CD-RW discs,” said Ahn, according to a company press release.

The portable player also has a DC outlet so it can be connected to a standard TV tuner unit and an S-Video out socket allowing connection to a conventional TV set. The new portable player produces audio relay using virtual 3D-surround sound, which simulates multi-channel audio playback from two speakers, instead of the five or more normally required. — (menareport.com)
