The Middle East's first store dedicated to the Information Technology (IT) products of Korean digital manufacturer LG Electronics recently opened in Dubai. The one million Emirati dirhams ($272,000) investment including a 176 square meter facility with a 40 square meter store, offices and storage.
This new retail initiative in Bur Dubai's Al-Ain Center Computer Plaza, has been branded PC Link Gate. It is the initiative of the PC International Group, LG Electronics' IT products distributor for the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The PC International Group said it's also planning to extend the retail initiative to Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. "Later we may look at taking the dedicated store concept to our other areas of influence, namely Libya, Yemen, Syria and Jordan," said Katout.
"We are constantly adding to our IT product line-up," said P. C. Choi, LG Electronics Gulf FZE managing director. "The UAE market has always been among the early adopters of technology because customers want, and can afford, the very best any company has to offer.”
