Little trading yesterday on the DFM

The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) saw little trading on Wednesday, August 23, as Emaar, the leading stock on the floor, slightly declined with relatively low activity. Dubai Investments was the only stock to rise, with a total of eight trades and a volume of 34,276, to reach Dh7.35. 

 

Dubai Islamic Bank, closed with no change at Dh18.15, with moderate trading of 5,000 shares in a total of five trades. National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) listed four mover in the OTC market, with Al Khazna Insurance and Union National Bank both slightly rising, the former by Dh1 to close at Dh124. Al Wathba Insurance, rose five fils to Dh2.30, and Etisalat closed at Dh990, an increase of Dh5.  

 

Emnex rose 3.64 points to close at 1,594.41 — where the banks' sub-index gained 8.3 points, closing at 1,685.14. The services sub-index fell 0.59 points to 1,595.77. Both the insurance sub-index and the Islamic sub-index closed without a change, at 1,058.98 and 777.33 respectively.  

 

New Cos rose 14.26 points to end the day at 954.15, while Blue Chip closed without changing at 885.22.  

 

Emaar fell 20 fils, closing at Dh23.30, with a trading volume of 26,502 shares in a total of 12 trades.  

 

Property dropped 5.65 points to 784.95, and Large Cap closed with gains of merely 1.5 points to reach 733.5.  

 

The NBAD general index rose 5.07 points to reach 2,600.08. The NBAD banks-index rose by almost four points to close at 2,509.84, whereas the service sector index rose by 7.56 points, closing at 3,254.13.  

 

Emirates Fiancial Services reported a total market volume of 90,149 shares, with a total value of Dh1.44 million, figures which included the DFM. – (Albawaba-MEBG)
