LogicaCMG has announced a multi-million-dollar contract to upgrade the Short Messaging Services (SMS) for Oman's mobile phone network.
Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel), the sole mobile operator in Oman, is to upgrade its LogicaCMG Short Messaging Service Centre (SMSC) to meet the demands of a sharp increase in SMS traffic. In the future this will also allow Omantel to provide similar SMS services to their prepaid subscriber base.
LogicaCMG provides management and IT consultancy, systems integration and outsourcing services to clients across diverse markets including telecoms, financial services, energy and utilities, industry, distribution and transport and the public sector. Formed in 2002, through the merger of Logica and CMG, the company employs around 21,000 staff in offices across 34 countries. — (menareport.com)
