London’s Radisson SAS Portman Hotel has seen significant growth in Middle East guests, partly as a result of a joint passenger promotion campaign with Kuwait Airways, stated a company press release. Earlier this year, the hotel and Kuwait Airways Holidays signed a marketing deal targeting first class passengers.
"Between January and March this year the number of our Middle East visitors has more than doubled," said Portman Director of Sales Claude Attala, who was speaking at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai.
"Middle East travelers make up 16 percent of our total business mix this year as compared to seven percent during the same period in 2001, of those, 80 percent originate from Kuwait as our joint promotion with the state's national carrier has started paying off,” he added.
Radisson Hotels & Resorts operates Middle East hotels in Amman, Aqaba, Bahrain, Baku, Istanbul, Kuwait, Muscat and Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt. Three more Egyptian properties in Taba, Hurghada and Al Quesir are due on line soon. Radisson Hotels & Resorts and its parent company Carlson Hospitality Worldwide includes 758 hotel and resort locations representing 130,860 guest rooms in 63 countries plus six luxury cruise ships sailing worldwide. — (menareport.com)
