Microsoft's OpenDoor road show arrived in the Sultanate of Oman on May 29, with partners Microsoft Gulf and Eastern Mediterranean (GEM), Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Intel Middle East displaying cutting-edge technology and innovations.
"OpenDoor has been the most the most phenomenal success as far as Microsoft and its many partners in the initiative have been concerned", remarked Derek Kerr, community relations manager at Microsoft GEM.
"Over the past two years, OpenDoor has built a great resource for our customers across the region. It has broken attendance records every time and it has given tens of thousands of people around the Middle East access to the very latest information on what's happening in the IT industry," he added.
As the longest running program seminar in the Mid-East, OpenDoor has aided and educated regional business on IT solutions, enabling them to make more well-informed decisions and investments, Oman Daily Observer Reported.
Microsoft Windows 2000 and Server, office and database productivity software, microprocessor technologies and e-commerce from Intel and imaging, computing, and mass storage solutions from Hewlett Packard comprise the main paramount issues of the forum.
On May 29, Microsoft GEM and Commerce One Middle East (CIME) addressed Omani businessmen on the relevance and benefits of e-commerce. Strategic vendor analysis and on-line purchasing were explored. "Many businesses told us that they wanted more help from the industry in terms of getting to grips with the potential of e-commerce and using the associated technologies in their work," remarked Bahrain Mohazzebi, General Manager of Microsoft GEM.
The show already visited Abu Dhabi and Kuwait and will travel to Lebanon, Dubai and Pakistan in June.
