A senior Arab agricultural specialist estimates the food supply gap in the Arab World at $16 billion. The Director General of the Arab Agriculture Development Organization, Salem Al-Lawzi, said that his organization is working on narrowing the food gap by launching large agricultural projects in Arab states such as Egypt, Sudan and Mauritania, reported Al-Bayan . The same official asserted that the organization is presently focusing on Mauritania, since it is endowed with wide arable territories. — (menareport.com)
