More Than 50% off on Haj Travels for Pilgrims From UAE

Devotees looking to make the annual pilgrimage to Makkah on a budget are in for a welcome treat.

The cost of making the sacred Islamic pilgrimage, Haj, has decreased more than 50 per cent because of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowment (Awqaf's) recently launched electronic system for Haj pilgrims.

The electronic system has increased competition amongst Hajj vendors as it streamlined the application process for the holy sacrament all in one convenient online location.

Previous years had seen Haj prices reaching up to Dh40,000, on average, with some demanding special services that could crest Dh90,000. 

Whereas now, thanks to the new system, residents of the UAE can make the pilgrimage for Dh13,000.
