The finance commission of the Moroccan society for economic development examined again the proposed Budget Law of 2005 Friday evening, October 29. The central issue on the agenda was the new tax laws and measures to control inflation. In attendance at the meeting was Minister of Finance and Privatization, Fathallah Oualalou.

The commission recommended changes to ensure the budget creates more jobs and increases medical insurance cover. The commission criticized that not enough was being done to encourage regional investment and said this could only be done through giving more incentives to the private sector and boosting education spending and not through raising taxes.
