Morocco is to chair the Mediterranean Food and Agricultural Committee following a meeting of the general assembly, an international organization which includes almost all the producing and exporting countries in the Mediterranean basin; Egypt, Greece, Turkey, Tunisia, France, among others. There are also observer members such as the USA, South Africa and Argentina.
Morocco, represented by Bouamar Bouamar will hold the presidency for the next two years. Bouamar was elected unanimously by the member states. This is a major strategic gain for the Moroccan agricultural sector, which forms a major part of the Moroccan economy. (menareport.com)
