Moroccan Social Development, Family and Solidarity Minister, Abderrahim Harouchi, said Tuesday that poverty touches 13.7 percent of the population in Morocco. In rural areas, poverty rate is over 20 percent.
Harouchi, who was speaking at a meeting on the occasion of the Migrant Day marked on August 10, added that illiteracy touches 48 percent of the population.
