ALBAWABA – Elon Musk, the American entrepreneur and US government contractor best known for leading Tesla, SpaceX, xAI, The Boring Company, and X, announced that Starship will launch to Mars by the end of 2026. Starship, the two-stage, fully reusable, super-heavy-lift launch vehicle being developed by SpaceX, will be accompanied by a Tesla Robot, according to Musk.

Musk stated that Starship will launch to Mars by the end of 2026, accompanied by Optimus Tesla robot, and indicated that humans could visit Mars by 2029 and 2031.

Notably, in November 2024, Reuters reported that Musk will focus on transporting humans to Mars in the coming year, as well as during Donald Trump’s presidency.

“Starship departs for Mars at the end of next year, carrying Optimus. If those landings go well, then human landings may start as soon as 2029, although 2031 is more likely. SpaceX will launch over 90% of all of Earth’s payload mass to orbit this year. China will be ~5% and rest of world, including rest of America, around 5%. When Starship is launching at high rate, SpaceX will probably carry >99% of Earth’s payload mass to orbit. This is necessary to make Mars a self-sustaining civilization,” Musk stated.
