A new cement sack plant of Oman-Frantschach Industrial Packaging (OFIP) is inaugurated at Rusayl Industrial Estate on Wednesday. Basim Dibiyan, OFIP manager, said the company is a joint venture with a capital of RO. 600,000 and will produce bags for cement packaging with an annual capacity of 45 million units.
Quoted by ONA, he said 50% of the company production will be exported. The plant employees will be 30% Omanised.
The company official said the Austrian-based Frantschach is the foreign partner in OFIP. Frantschach is a world giant producer of sack paper and owns 45 plants around the world. It has choosen the Sultanate as a centre for sack production in the Gulf region.
