Kuwait's Touristic Enterprises Company (TEC), which operates 14 entertainment attractions throughout the country, unveiled plans for a new corporate headquarters in Kuwait city, during The Office Exhibition, the Middle East's office interiors and facilities management trade show, which opened in Dubai this week.

"The new five-storey building will span 5,000 square meters and will have a basement and covered parking. It is aimed at housing around 200 staff and we anticipate issuing a public tender for construction within a few months," said Shaker Sulaiman Al-Othman, TEC’s vice chairman.

Kuwait's Al-Rakhis trading family also disclosed at the show that it is planning a $1.3 million headquarters in Al-Shuwaikat to accommodate its two leading companies, International Trading and Contracting Establishment (ITC) and Ebrahim M. Al-Rakhis & Sons General Trading Company.

"We anticipate spending $300,000 on office fittings and furnishings for the new headquarters," said Mohammad E. Al-Rakhis, ITC chairman. "The building will cover 1,000 square meters and will also include, on the ground floor, a warehouse for up to 40 international pharmaceuticals brands."

Two new office towers are also due to open in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, by the end of the year. Saleh Al-Subeaei, president of Saudi Arabia's Al-Subaeaei Industrial Company, which is involved in real estate, said his firm is building a 20-storey and a 12-storey office block in Dammam at a combined cost of $41 million. "There is high demand for office real estate in Dammam, particularly for buildings with the latest intelligent office management systems installed," said Al-Subeaei.

Sameer Sulaiman Al-Zadjali, director of Finance & Administration of Oman's State General Reserve Fund, said work on the fund's new Muscat headquarters has now reached fitting-out stage. "We are now ready to furnish this four-storey building which has cost around $2.7 million and will house up to 50 staff," said Al-Zadjali. — (menareport.com)
