ALBAWABA – Apple, the American multinational corporation and technology company, launched its new iPhone 16 Pro series at its annual conference on Monday at California, USA. The new devices bring significant changes and introduce exciting new features. Huawei Technologies, the Chinese multinational digital communications technology conglomerate corporation, released its new Mate XT phone hours after the new iPhone launch.

iPhone 16 Pro

The new iPhone 16 Pro showcases a bigger screen as the size increased by 6.27 and 6.86 inches. It features a vertical camera and a bigger battery, and the new design presents a totally new button that can be used for photos or video capturing. The new device introduces a 48MP main camera with a 26mm focal length and a new 48MP ultra-wide lens with autofocus.

The company designed the new iPhone with AI chips developed by Arm company. The new AI chip is designed to enhance the performance of the virtual assistant Siri, enabling new features like creating custom emojis, photo editing, and utilizing internal AI models.

Tim Cook, CEO of Apple said at the launch event: "The next generation of iPhone has been designed for Apple Intelligence from the ground up. It marks the beginning of an exciting new era.”

It is worth noting that iPhone 16 is priced at $924.73 (AED 3,399), while the iPhone 16 Plus is priced at $1,033.60 (AED 3,799) in the UAE. iPhone 16 Pro starts at $1,170.28 (AED 4,299), while iPhone 16 Pro Max starts at $1,387.43 (AED 5,099).

The new phones will be available for pre-ordering on September 20 through Apple’s official UAE website.

Huawei unveiled its new trifold phone Mate XT hours after the iPhone release positioning itself in direct competition with Apple.

Yu Chengdong, CEO of the Consumer BG at Huawei Technologies, said previously that the production of this device took almost 5 years of work and investment. “After five years of investment, we have turned science fiction into a reality,” Chengdong said.

The new Mate XT, which users can fold three ways measures around 10 inches (25.4 centimeters) with a foldable keyboard and is anticipated to be powered by Huawei's top-tier Kirin 9 series mobile application processor (AP).

The new device showcases advanced artificial intelligence features, such as text translation and cloud-based content creation.

Huawei Mate XT is priced at $2,800 (AED 10,276) and will be available for preorders on September 20 in the UAE as well.
