Tesla has six factories and is currently building a seventh in Mexico.

ALBAWABA - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has invited Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, the electric car company, to open a factory in Turkey, according to Turkish media reports.

Erdogan extended the invitation during a meeting at the Turkish House, a skyscraper near the United Nations headquarters in New York.

Erdogan is currently in the United States to attend the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly. There has been no comment from Tesla or the Turkish embassy in Washington regarding the invitation. In August, Tesla expressed interest in building a factory in India to manufacture cost-effective electric vehicles. Currently, Tesla operates six factories.
