Nigeria and Tunisia have signed a bilateral air services agreement aimed at establishing direct links between the two countries, officials said Friday, June 29. The agreement was signed by officials in Abuja this week at the end of a second joint commission session, they said.
Under the pact, each country can use the other's their airspace without landing, make stops for non-traffic purposes and land with passengers, cargoes and mails. Both countries also signed cooperation trade agreement to boost trade and commerce in their respective countries.
Nigeria's deputy foreign minister, Dubem Onyia, led the country's team to the talks while the Tunisian delegation was headed by that country's secretary of state for Africa and Maghreb, Sadok Fayala. ― (AFP, Lagos)
