Nawras, Oman’s second mobile operator has automated its financial and procurement functions using Oracle E-Business Suite in order to improve operational efficiency, reduce operating costs, and streamline business processes.

As a relative newcomer in the Omani mobile market, Nawras has deployed Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software to streamline key internal functions, including accounting, inventory management, and purchasing. The implementation of Oracle E-Business Suite gives Nawras an up-to-the-minute view of its back office business, allowing the organization to make informed decisions during this period of critical development and investment – a crucial business advantage for a new player in a highly competitive market.

Kim Askjaer, IT Director at Nawras Telecom, explained, “Oracle E-Business Suite enables Nawras to streamline our business, while trimming our costs to ensure that as much capital as possible is available to invest in our network and customer service initiatives.”

“At Nawras our key objectives include keeping costs down and maintaining a financial agility which enables us to react quickly to new market opportunities and customer requirements. Oracle E-Business Suite’s Financial, Purchasing and Inventory Management are clearly going to play an important part in delivering in these areas,” continued Kim Askjaer.

Oracle, the world's leading enterprise software company, has set the industry benchmark for business solutions, and Nawras joins a number of leading regional telecoms providers in deploying the Oracle E-Business Suite. Among those using Oracle E-Business Suite in the Middle East are Qtel, Kuwait’s Wataniya Telecoms and MTC, Saudi Telecom, OmanTel, Telecom Egypt, Jordan’s FastLink, and Egypt’s Mobinil..
