Oman builds new camel race track

Sayyid Saud bin Ibrahim al-Busaidi, Oman's Minister of the Interior signed at the Wali of Sohar's office Wednesday an agreement worth RO. 329,000 to establish a camel race track in the wilayat of Sohar.  

 

According to ONA, the agreement was signed on the directives of Sultan Qaboos bin Said.  

 

The project will be constructed on an area of 5,250,000 square meter. It will cater for 500 spectators. It will mix between Islamic architectural and Omani heritage style.  

 

Sayyid Saud said the project comes as part of the efforts extended by the government to safeguard this sport. (menareport.com)
