AugustaWestland Helicopters will supply the sultanate of Oman with 16 new Super Lynx combat helicopters valued at $430 million. Delivery of the helicopters will commence in the spring of 2004, reported Reuters. In an attempt to modernize its fleet, the new aircraft will replace the Omani Armed forces current helicopters, reported the official ONA news agency.

AugustaWestland is a joint venture of Britain's GKN and Italy's Finmeccanic. The company has previously supplied Egypt and Qatar with its Sea King Helicopters. — (menareport.com)
