Oman GDP up by 14%

The monthly statistical bulletin published by Oman's National Economy Ministry has indicated that the value of the Sultanate's gross domestic product at current prices rose by 14.1% in the first six months of this year to RO. 4624 million as against RO. 4051 million during the corresponding period last year.  

 

According to ONA, the bulletin showed that total government revenues stood at RO. 3315 million as at the end of last October, compared with RO. 2730 million a year ago; up by 21.5%, while public expending increased  by 22.6% in the first ten months this year to RO. 2895 million as against RO. 2362 million in the same period over the year.

 

As for foreign trade, the total of merchandise exports was valued at RO. 2039 million as at the end of May 2004. That figure was up by 10.2% from a total of RO. 1850 million during the same period last year.
