One third of Jordanian families own satellite dishes

Recently published statistics reveal that 95 percent of Jordanian families own television sets, while 71 percent own radios. Further figures show that one third of Jordanian households have satellite dishes and 21 percent own videocassette recorders (VCR’s), according to Al-Rai daily.  

 

According to the survey, published by the Jordanian Statistics Public Bureau, 96 percent of families situated in Jordan’s central district own televisions, whereas this rate stands at 92 percent in the northern district, and at 88 percent in the southern district.  

 

Such media and entertainment products are widely available throughout the Kingdom, and provide citizens with uncensored access to an array of local and international media outlets. ― (MENA Report)
